Registration Fees and Categories

Conference registration fees at ICONN are determined by the date payment is received, not by the date of registration. All listed prices are in Australian dollars (AUD) and include 10% Australian Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Similar to pricing structures used across many Australian digital platforms — including entertainment services such as Royal Reels Casino — early payment provides access to discounted rates, while standard fees apply closer to the event date.

Registration Types and Pricing

The conference offers multiple registration categories to suit different participant profiles, including members, non-members, students, and early career researchers. Options include Early Bird and Standard rates, as well as Day Only registrations for delegates attending a single day.

Student registrations are available exclusively to full-time students holding a valid Student Identification Card. Proof of eligibility must be uploaded during registration, either as a copy of the student ID or a written confirmation from a supervisor. Early Career Researcher (ECR) registration applies to participants who received their PhD in February 2015 or later.

What the Full Registration Fee Includes

A full conference registration provides access to all official sessions and activities. This includes a delegate satchel, one ticket to the welcome reception, one ticket to the conference dinner, and catering throughout the event, such as morning and afternoon teas and lunches.

For delegates registered under a Day Only option, conference dinner tickets are not included and must be purchased separately.

Accommodation and Travel Information

Accommodation and travel costs are not included in the registration fees. However, accommodation can be conveniently booked during the registration process. Discounted hotel options are available and can be reviewed on the official accommodation page, allowing attendees to plan their stay efficiently.

Online Registration and Confirmation

Registration for the conference is completed online. Once the process is finished, delegates receive immediate email confirmation, including a tax invoice. If the confirmation email is not received, participants are advised to check their spam folder before contacting the conference secretariat for assistance.

Payment Methods

All registration fees must be paid in Australian dollars (AUD). Accepted payment methods include:

  • Credit card payments via Visa or MasterCard, which will appear on statements as Expert Events
  • Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), with banking details provided on the tax invoice

For EFT payments, delegates must forward their remittance advice to the conference secretariat to ensure correct processing.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

All registration cancellations must be submitted in writing to the conference secretariat. Cancellations received by Friday 10 January 2020 are eligible for a refund, minus an administrative fee of AUD 110.

Cancellations received after this date are subject to the discretion of the conference committee, with any approved refunds processed after the event concludes. Registrations may be transferred to another colleague at any time before the conference, provided written notification is sent to the conference secretariat.
